Kids are essentially growing up online these days, and there's really nothing out there that effectively teaches them how to navigate this whole Internet thing. That's why Google set out to help educate families about the ways of the web—Internetiquette, if you will—with a program called "Be Internet Awesome."

The program consists of a full educational curriculum on digital safety and citizenship for the classroom and a super fun online game set in a spacey, Internet-y world called "Interland" to put those lessons into practice.

My role was to verbally brand the entire program, write the game, and help conceptually tie the lessons to the creative and write in a tone that both kids and parents would vibe with. We held focus groups with loooots of 10-year-olds and they schooled me on experiential writing for littles (read: life).

Be Internet Awesome was nominated for a 2018 Webby for Best Art Direction
